What is the difference between a domain registrar, host and web designer?

  • The domain registrar is where you purchase your domain name (think of it as the same as registering your business name, only it’s for the internet).
  • Think of the host as your landlord. Their web server is where your website will reside.
  • Think of the web designer or website developer (same thing) as your interior decorator. When you get your domain name, then you need a professional to make you look GREAT! Remember…first impressions never get a TAKE TWO.
